U15, U16, U17 and U18 boys teams to be formed to participate in the 2010/2011 season.
Mainland United Soccer Association is pleased to announce that they will be holding tryouts for High School age club teams to participate in the 2010/11 season.
Mainland United has teamed up with the Ocean City Youth Soccer Club and is looking to form boy’s teams at the U15,
U16, U17 and U18 age groups. Teams will be formed under the Mainland United Soccer Association name and participate in
college showcase tournaments and events over the winter and spring 2010/11 club season.
These teams will be trained and coached by professional soccer trainers of the Ocean City FC Nor’easters. It is hoped
that players from school such as; Mainland Regional High, Ocean City High and other surrounding High Schools in the Cape
May and Atlantic counties will take advantage of this opportunity.
“For a lot of local clubs soccer stops after the u14 age level when the players go off to High School and do not return
to club soccer” commented Paul Richards, MUSA President. “The Ocean City FC trainers have been providing expert training
to the MUSA teams for years and they have done a great job. By forming these older age teams we hope to provide the
high school age players a place to play club soccer after the high school season finishes in November”.
“We have a professional training contract with MUSA so we are only too happy to expand upon the services we
provide” remarked Neil Holloway, GM and Head Coach of the Ocean City FC Nor’easters. “We have some fantastic and
highly qualified international trainers, so it is our hope that we continue to help player development through the formation
of these Mainland United high school age teams”. Ocean City FC has its own Super Y-League teams during the summer
months and hopes that players from these teams will feed into its Super Y-league summer program.
