Evergreen FC set to visit The Beach House Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Nor'easters look to defeat Evergreen FC for 2nd time this season

The Nor’easters will be eyeing a jump in the standings as they face off against Evergreen Hammers FC at The Beach House in Ocean City, NJ, on Saturday, June 18.

The team is coming off of a win in a mid-season friendly over the New England Revolution Under-23s. They were led by great forward play from Nathan Regis (Pfeiffer Univ. / Arima, Trinidad & Tobago), who netted a hat-trick. Goalkeeper Michael Kirk also put in a stellar second half shift, recording five saves.

The last time the Nor’easters faced off against Evergreen, forward Chevaughn "Chevy"  Walsh (Jefferson College / Jamaica) had an emphatic hat-trick that ultimately led the Nor’easters to a 3-0 road win. In addition to strong offense, the play of Andrew Garcia (St. Francis / Sicklerville, NJ) in the Nor’easter goal was nothing short of spectacular, keeping a clean sheet in his first start of the season.

The Nor’easters are looking for a positive result on Saturday after being shut out in two consecutive PDL matches.  Forward trio of Walsh, Regis, and Miguel Jaime (Florida Gulf Coast / Denver, CO) will be eager to find the back of the net after this recent dry spell.  Walsh and Jaime both have four goals in the PDL this year.  Regis has scored five goals, but they have all come in the team’s three friendly matches. Scoring in the league will be vital going forward in the second half of the season.

The Evergreen Hammers currently sit near the bottom of the table in the Mid Atlantic Division in sixth place (2-4-2). They are five points behind first place Reading United AC, but have played three more games.  Their leading goalscorer, Ahmed Sheta (three goals), will look to help the team bounce back after a 2-1 loss to Lehigh Valley United Sonic on June 12.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Carey Stadium in Ocean City, NJ and tickets ($8 for kids, $12 for adults) can be purchased online or on the day of the game.  For individual tickets, click HERE.  For group tickets, email tickets@oceancityfc.com, or call the ticket office at (609) 736-4849.
