The home opener was played in front of 300 plus fans at Carey Stadium. The Nor’easters had played seven straight road games to start the season and with one home game in the books, the Nor’easters will play ten consecutive home games to finish the season.

The Nor’easters big chance to break the scoreless tie came in the 17th minute from forward Jorge Guinovart. With the ball loose just outside the Red Bulls’ box, Guinovart came rushing in, firing a shot at the Red Bulls net. The ball bounced off of a Red Bulls defender before the Red Bulls goaltender extending to make a diving save to keep the ball out of the net.
The Red Bulls nearly won the goal on a header in the 86th minute, when Red Bulls’ forward Brian White sent a header towards the net that was snared by Nor’easters goalkeeper Tim Dobrowlski.
Dobrowlski made three saves on the night, posting his first clean sheet of the season. You can watch the full match replay here.
