Nor’easters announce “NEXT” program for top senior youth players

Nor’easters NEXT is a FREE club-neutral talent identification and training program for the top high school aged players in South Jersey and the tri-state area. Focused on identifying future Nor’easters players, the NEXT program introduces top senior youth players to the club’s training methodology while providing a tiered pathway into the senior team.

Centered around invitation-only training sessions with Ocean City head coach Kevin Nuss, Nor’easters NEXT provides the area’s top senior youth players with a competitive environment, focused on long-term development and preparation for the USL League Two level.

The Nor'easters provide 4-6 training sessions that will be exclusively offered this summer as part of our initial launch of the NEXT program. Those players that excel may have an opportunity to move into Under-23, Reserve or even USL League Two first team sessions.

“The NEXT program is the logical progression of our player development pathway” said Nor'easters head coach Kevin Nuss. "There are a number of extremely talented young players in our catchment area. As a club, it is vital that we ID them early and get them working with our USL-2 first team staff.”

“We are excited to offer the NEXT program” said Nor'easters sporting director Tim Oswald. “The rich history and tradition of our club can be found in the careers of so many of our alumni that have moved on to play at the professional level. We are hopeful that this platform can serve as a starting point for future Nor’easters players down the line.”

Players born between 2002-2006 that are interested in attending the NEXT program can submit their application at http://www.oceancityfc.com/next.

All applications will be reviewed and players selected to attend will be contacted directly with more information.
