The Ocean City Nor’easters will close out the 2010 season on Saturday night at Carey Stadium when they host the West Virginia Chaos. While the team isn’t in the running for the postseason, there’s a lot on the line when the team kicks off at 7 p.m.

Since joining the Premier Development League in 2003, the Nor’easters have never finished with a losing record, and with a 5-5-5 mark entering Saturday’s finale, they need a win to keep that streak alive. In fact, in the 14 seasons the team has been in existence, they haven’t won less than six games in a season since their inaugural campaign in 1997 (they won five games that year).

The West Virginia Chaos enter the weekend with a 4-8-1 record, and the Nor’easters will have rest on their side as the Chaos will be playing their second road game in a row. On Friday night, they take on the Central Jersey Spartans on the campus of Rider University.

After a rough start to the season (1-7-0 in their first eight games), the Chaos rattled off a four-game unbeaten streak before losing 1-0 to the Hampton Roads Piranhas last weekend.

History is on the side of the home team, as Ocean City FC has never lost to West Virginia. When the Nor’easters defeated the Chaos 3-2 back on June 12 at Schoenbaum Stadium in Charleston, WV, they improved their all-time record to 2-0-2.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids and can be purchased online (link is located on OceanCityFC.com) or at the Carey Stadium entrance gate.
