Nor'easters In College - Fall 2012
Players showing they can stand out at the college level too

The Ocean City Nor’easters have been well represented at the beginning of this exciting 2012 college soccer season. The Nor’easters have 22 players spread out across 15 universities this year. 10 of these teams have a winning record while 5 are working hard to improve.

The overall combined record of colleges with Nor’easters players is 61-41-10 while the players themselves have combined for 24 goals and 17 assists in the 164 games they have played. Ocean City Nor’easters are excited by the amount of time our players are getting and how much better they will be when they come back for summer 2013.

Goalkeeper Tyler Miller is among the standouts with Northwestern being unbeaten. Miller has racked up 4 clean sheets with 21 saves. LaSalle goalkeeper John McCarthy has been very busy between the sticks too, also with 4 clean sheets but having to work harder to achieve it with 54 saves in his 9 starts.

LaSalle winger Markhus “Duke” Lacroix, who performed so well in blue and white during the summer, has kept his form going at UPenn with 5 goals and 3 assists in 8 games. Other offensive standouts must include Carnegie Mellon’s Max Tassano who has 6 goals and 3 assists in 8 games and was enough to earn him UAA Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week. 3 goals and 2 assists are in Jason Plumhoff’s stats as he leads the attack for LaSalle with 28 shots so far in 2012, that is 3.11 per game.

Nor’easters Head Coach has gone back to his day job with the Rutgers-Camden Raptors and has led them to 7-1 in 2012. The 24 goals scored and only 5 conceded is a testament to Tim Oswald’s approach to playing exciting soccer.

Ocean City Nor’easters will continue to monitor our players during the college season. If any of the players have been given any conference awards then please pass on this information via facebook, twitter or Steve Thurlby on sthurlby@globalpremiersoccer.com.
