Ocean City FC U15 Boys Prepare For First Tournament In New Age Group
MSSL Winter College Showcase Is Destination for Future College Players

The Ocean City FC U15 Boys begin their first journey together as they prepare for the MSSL Winter College Showcase on the weekend of the 25th November. The College Showcase events are geared towards presenting top quality young players to college coaches. D1, D2, D3, NAIA and NJCAA college coaches are all in attendence as the recruitment process is already underway. A strong set of performances in this tournament can go a long way to getting your name out there amongst the most respected college coaches from the best soccer playing universities.

Over the last few weeks Director of Coaching Leon Brown has been piecing together this new team, some players have stepped forward from the U14 Pre Super-Y League team while fresh blood has also been added. Leon Brown is enthusiastic about the chances of these players performing well and heading off to play soccer in college in a few years, ’there is a lot of potential in the players around south Jersey and it is up to us to find the best players and release that potential to develop great players and great people in the process’.

The aim of Ocean City FC is to develop the Academy idea of improving players year on year with the plan for players to go to good colleges, play in our Premier Development League men’s team and eventually be able to turn professional when they finish their education. With this in mind, the Director of PDL Operations, Steve Thurlby commented, ’the players we want to attract must have the desire and determination to improve, without that, they will never be able to move forward in a soccer career’

The U15 Boys still have a couple of spots open on the roster, for more information contact Director of Coaching Leon Brown on (609) 525-9999 or email at lbrown@oceancityfc.com
