Boys reach semi finals of MAPS 2011 Spring Challenge

The U16 Boys were in action again this past weekend, March 19 and 20, at Fort Dix for the MAPS Spring Challenge. The team had two successive 1-0 wins against Garnet Valley SC Evolution and Cherry Hill FC Phoenix 94, respectively on the first day of the tournament. This guaranteed the teams entry into the semi-finals on Sunday with a game to spare.

With one final group game left on the Sunday morning the team failed to continue their winning streak and lost the game. The semi-final would prove to be the final game for the Ocean City U16 Boys as they succumbed to another defeat this time with a scoreline of 2-0.

Coach Leon Brown said 'It was unfortunate that the team were unable to replicate Saturdays performances when it really counted on Sunday. The opposition were able to capitalize on our lacklustre performances on Sunday we made three mistakes in the tournament which resulted in us conceding all three goals.'
