Jackson, NJ - The South Jersey Barons Youth Academy has four new teams competing in the 2006 season increasing the number of teams in the club from 15 to 19. One of those teams got off to a perfect start by winning the Jackson Summer Classic Tournament. The U14 Boys Red squad went 2-1-0 in a very competitive Premier Bracket, with the championship being decided by the tie-breakers.

The boys started the tournament off by beating a re-formed and quality Lumberton Blaze side 2- 0, that recently added 4 SJ select players to their side.  The highlight of the game came just 10 minutes into the contest as keeper Vincent Wilson saved a PK, setting the tone for the game and weekend as the defense played stellar keeping a clean sheet for the entire weekend. The second game on Saturday was a very fast paced game vs. Howell that ended in a 0-0 tie. On Sunday the boys came back very strong, and were able to find the net multiple times by defeating the Hulmeville Sting 4-0 and taking the title on a tie breaker situation with Howell.

Despite this being their first tournament together the boys looked well organized and played three very disciplined games. Vincent Wilson posted three shut outs including the crucial penalty save in the first half of the Lumberton game. Congratulations to the U14 Red and the three teams competing for a great weekend of football.
